Why don't you send Google an E-mail or Fax and ask them why they don't approve of the regulations California wants to place on driverless cars?

Of course companies who are in the industry would like less regulation. Are you kidding? GM would totally agree with less regulation for automated driving systems. It's part of the culture of industry: we always want less regulation, because that cuts into potential profits and complicates development/production.


But fact of the matter is, driverless cars should absolutely be regulated to the very same degree that are faced by modern automobile manufacturers.

It's so early, it will be more heavy handed now, but as the tech matures regulations will be modified.
