This is the worst image verifiction check EVAR, try it if you don't believe me

So I was attempting to do a search about a VBulletin forum error and was halted in my tracks by a satan spawned image verification. I defy anyone here to successfully get past this demonic apparition

LOL yeah seen those before, but the default vb image check is even more fail. I've seen that on other forums before, and I never actually successfully registered and just game up.

Not that bad. A few words are utterly unreadable, but you can reload and get easier ones pretty quickly.

Some aren't too easy - but they don't generate those randomly, at least not both.
That's ReCaptcha. It acts as a filter for bots, but also helps OCR software digitize old texts.

That one looks fine. I even reloaded two additional time and they were all legible. Just hit the reload button if you run across a Captcha you can't read.

The one posted above is terrible. I don't care for those too much.

I had to sign up for Microsoft Live a few weeks ago. It took me about 8 tries to get the captcha right. I can only imagine how frustrating captchas are for older people.
