P.S. Use real Unix, not some Windows emulator 🙂😛

I do, but when Im stuck on Windows machines thats the only easy way to get necessary utilities that microsoft does not include.

So no one knows why this is wierd, they just like saying it is?

Its cygwin. It gives you UNIX applications on a Windows computer. But its not wierd.

Whats wierd is how people can use an OS without simple but great tools like grep.

WHOOOOOOSH!

(over my head... 🙁)

I stopped the *.gif early just because I thought it was going to be another one of those shocking animated gifs that are designed to jump out and scare you. Turns out I just don't have the knowledge to understand.

Not much to "grep" in windows anyways.

It would have helped me out several times. Anytime I need to search for something specific in anything Ive written (since I dont use proprietary formats that would limit readership if I published it or something), grep would come in handy. Anyways, Id find it useful, even if Microsoft tries to make it less useful 😉
