This is the reason I wear a motorcycle helmet...safe for work.

I don't get why some people constantly defend the right to not wear a helmet. Nobody can predict when an accident will occur, this is a fact. Why wouldn't you protect yourself as best you can when riding a motorcycle?

Most reasonable people *would* protect themselves voluntarily.

But you seemed hard pressed on this liberty concept. If someone else want's to risk turning their face into hamburger and financially ruining themselves with medical bills all so they can look cooler, so be it.

Spread the word and educate on safety like you are doing here and get people to voluntarily take care of themselves. Let the dumb asses go, you can't save everyone. Leave government oppression out of it.

as i get older, i have more desire to wear my helmet. what others do doesnt really bother me, let them squish face if they want.

I'd really rather you not wear a helmet, that way I wouldn't have to worry about you not seeing me when you're riding around, weaving in and out of traffic.

Seriously, I agree with Jules that helmets are essential to bike safety. If seatbelts are law (in many states) helmets should be CRITICAL. In a car, you have a steel cage to protect you PLUS the seat belt/airbags. In a bike, you have none of these, just a helmet. Do yourself a favor and wear a helmet.
