What I've read about it sounds like they're depending very heavily on end users for level design. So, they show you a pro level in the video, and then you're stuck with whatver Billy down the road can come up with.

The graphics look nice, but the game play looks kind of frustrating and boring. It honestly looked more like a physics tech demo than a game to me. Anybody notice all the little glitches? Like their arms would stretch out really funny and their heads would pop off and bobble sometimes -- especially on the skateboard at the end.

interesting to look at also, but i didn't bother to buy it off source. these things are cute but i doubt i would care to play for long. too bad its for the ps3

Don't get me wrong from my statement above, those are easily some of the best graphics/game physics I've ever seen for a sidescroller... but still, its a sidescroller, it can only be so "amazing"

Their heads weren't popping off at the end, lol...They were trying to generate momentum for the skateboard by lying down and shaking it to the right.

I love side scrollers. I wish this was on the Wii actually. As has already been mentioned, PS3 owners aren't typically looking for this sort of thing and it certainly isn't going to move consoles very well. Still jealous though. Super Paper Mario should give me something of a 2D platformer fix... but I REALLY want to see a good next gen Castlevania, Megaman, Contra... take your pick. 2D side scrolling gameplay with 3D backgrounds and amazing physics and particle effects? Sadly, I doubt it'll happen. Seems such games only are given life for handhelds. *sigh*

looks cool and the gfx are nice but I don't think it will be good enough to sell a $500-$600 system. It might sell some but nothing like the next GTA,Final Fantasy,MGS,ect would.

I gotta agree, I don't think people are going to be running out to buy a $500 console to play a sidescroller, no matter how good it is. One game alone isn't going to really do it period I wouldn't think.

I think the game is stunning. It's too bad that so-called gamers have so easily written of side-scrollers these days. I guess everything has to be a 3D frag fest to get noticed on anything outside of a portable. Too bad.

Thats the market demographic the PS3 is targeted at though. Its billed as a top of the line graphics powerhouse, with a price to match. You can't toss extreme mario on there and expect everyone to drop a load in their pants over it. People aren't going to pay a premium for something that could be done on the Wii or PS2.
