My gf lives in Astoria, NY, and there's a HUGE beer garden here. Studio Square, I think. Free to get in. Pitchers of beer, cheap food, and a great stmosphere.

I made the mistake of taking my gf. Don't do it. Don't take sand to the beach.

EDIT: Then she'll know where the beach is.
