here is my general specs:
epox 8k7a w/ latest bios
athlon xp 2000+ (retail) w/AS
512mb pc2100 from these guys i think
v5 5500 agp
ok well, i think thats all thats really important. here is whats going on. first wied thing is... i look high and low trying to see if my mobo supported xp cpus. i didn't find much info... just the epox site saying that the later bios' add xp support, so i'm thinking "cool". i try looking for the multiplier setting, but no luck. a google search gives me this
according to anand, i need to set the multiplier to 12.5. i look on my mobo and sure enough there is a setting for 12.5 (off off on on on). now when i set the multiplier accordingly, it will post that its set for 13x... ?
now that brings me to my second issue. when it posts... it reads Athlon XP 1664 (128 X 13.0) FSB 256
128? 256?!?! i check the bios and its set to mem clock is set to 133. sure, my cpu is now overclocked by a whooping 1.5mhz... but how the hell did my mem clock get set to 128? has anyone seen this problem before? is it my mobo or might i be doing something wrong? i would appreciate your feedback on the matter. thank you
