You can already get Logitech Speakers for your PC that are THX certified

The difference is that the PC speakers are likely THX Select certified, and not THX Ultra certified like this car system.

There is a WORLD of difference.

*bump* for the day/evening staff.

If you don't live in your car, what would be the advantage of having a THX system as opposed to a nice sound quality aftermarket system?
I'm just curious, as I outgrew the whole "Car stereo" thing a long time ago, and am surprisingly satisfied with most stock systems nowadays. :)

Same here. Unless my couch and ottoman are in the car with me, I think I'll keep the THX in the house. :)

... and I completely agree with you guys. I outgrew the aftermarket system thing a while ago as well. I'm just saying that it's a sweet option for those of us who don't want some ugly ass aftermarket deck in their car. (and don't want to worry about it getting stolen.) :)

Hrm,
Consider this:

Most cars have background noise at 70 mph greater than 70 decibels.

Even luxury cars are in the 65-68 db range, with all the extra sound deadening material helping to insulate against the NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) demons.

You'll have good sound, but never will get the sound you have at home... unless you go parking.

THX certification doesn't mean CRAP.

You think logitech z560s (the speakers i own and love) are actually THX worthy?

That link that was posted here last month with regards to the marketing ploy behind the z560's explained the certification process and its bullshit.
