I am trying to find a "custom plate" for my sister and brother in law for their new car and more than 3/4 of the names we picked are taken.

How can there be so many people with the name "BOSE" in their name.. especially in NY.. if this was calcutta.. sure fine..but here?

I want "1FASTLX" but I'm too cheap to pay extra for it. Don't know if it's available or not.

true.. they might be corny.. but they are yours..

like mine says STRT HWK (motorcycle) .. the car will say my name (will get it in 2 months)

But the point is that names like "BOSE CAR", "BOSE MOBL", "BOSE" etc etc.. are taken..
even "S M BOSE" (initals of my sister and her husband and their last names) was taken.. worst yet.. we cant take "BOSEBOSE" (welll techincally my sister didnt have to change her last name cause she married a BOSE (its a long story but we arent related by any means))

I dont know if they are trying to prevent a Trademark infridgement.. but then my last name is LEGAL.. why cant I get it when I am from the F*&$ing same family.

Don't tell me you want to brag about having Bose in your car?? Even Altimas have it as option now. Nothing to brag about. :D

OOps. Now I read it. Oh well, apparently the losers who I described above (not you) are taking up the plates that you want to use for a good reason.

HAHA, reminds me of when my dad got plates for the then new car. "BFG 9001", by total luck of the draw. This was back when some people were still playing Doom...

Is it just NY state where the personalized plates are completely flat (I don't know how they do it, silkscreen maybe?) Every other state, the letters are indented into the plate and in my opinion it looks a lot better that way. I've seen maybe two NY personalized plates that are like the other states, the rest are flat. Anyone know why they do this? My only guess would be faster/cheaper.

My Grandma used to have "KB4SFT" (I think. I could by waay off.) At any rate, it was her ham radio operator's license number.

"BOSE MOBL"?! I think there's a point where you just have to say "No", man.

Street Hawk eh? I loved that show and books. I used to watch the show in India (it would come on StarTV I think) and I used to read the books. I think I still have a few novels of Street Hawk lying around.

As for the license plate, get one that says 'DESI PIMP' or '2DESI4U' :D Actually don't cause that would be just dumb..
