Folks going on cruises that left their vehicles in parking garages were thrilled to hear that the (garages) were not flooded. Unfortunately a different kind of horror unfolded. You can probably guess what that is.

Port of New Orleans

Every vehicle has damage and 99pct of it was NOT from Katrina.

Sad world we live in.

Wow, pulled up the list of one lot, every car was broken into except for TWO. List included 335 cars. Toyota Corrola and Mazda Miata.

Yes but every damn car? Look at Fulton. It's just outrageous.

I was raised in Baltimore and I've seen the bad neighborhoods long before they started cleaning that place up. This is making "charm city" look truly golden.

I didn't think it was so bad until I hit the Fulton garage. Wow, the owner of the Corolla was a "lucky" person.

But New Orleans needs our help

Is Baltimore really as bad as they say? I've heard some areas there are warzones, I think The Wire was based in Baltimore and it was pretty scary.

Eh, Gavelston got looted, too. Turned out to be a NO refugee. They should just ship them back to NO and let them fend for themselves if they get caught looting.

There are some parts that are truly awful and some parts that are actually pretty nice. There's a stark difference between the two though, with very little middle ground. I lived in the city for six years in Charles Village and I never had any problems with mugging or anything like that. However, I know many people that did.

As for the worst areas... one time a few years ago I saw a news report where they were talking about the results of some violence study that the city had conducted. They had identified four "kill zones". Those zones were the NE, NW, SE, and SW sections of the city. :disgust:

Edit: Sorry for the threadjack

Ah, yes. Because a dozen people have looted, we should say fsck the rest of them and allow them to die with indadequate food supplies. I mean, obviously those who are looting are going to be the beneficiaries from the Red Cross, them being such morally upstanding people, they'll stand in line.

It takes more than a dozen people to break into 300+ cars.
I have donated because I know there are good people who need help.
Too bad we have so many bad people around too, I hope they get caught somehow.

I don't think that looting should affect donations, you are sorely mistaken by your "dozen" looters. I saw HUNDREDS on the news alone. Did you bother to click the link and see that almost every car was broken into and about 1/2 hotwired (attempted)?

Your argument about how looting shouldn't affect donations is limited by your inability to accept how many people did loot. There was mass looting.
