I believe an appropriate category for this kind of behavior would be "Asinine".

and you know, just when the world is always complaining about fathers who don't take care of their children, when one of us actually tries, we get beat down and stomped on.

He should get free groceries for a year from that place from the salary of the manager who refused his money.

it's the end of the world as we know it..........

i wouldn't be surprised if within the next 10 years we will be seeing massive war, just b/c the grocery store wouldn't take this guy's coins. :)

The only way a store can refuse loose change is by having a sign that specifically says you can't do that. Since all money says "legal tender" on it, that is a contract the store has to abide by.

<< where rolled coins concealed a powdery substance. >>

ANY paper produces a powdery substance when cut or torn.

<< ``I don't want to put a bunch of pennies in the drawer,'' >>

If I was behind him in line I would leave my stuff and take the man to another store to shop.

You know, they have every right to refuse his money (even though I don't think they should have). But - because they thought his money had anthrax? They should be fired for sheer stupidity.

That is heartbreaking...poor guy. :(

But I figure they'll get theirs.... When people read that story something tells me there's gonna be quite a boycott.
