This is ridiculous

I'm nearly positive this is affecting most users as I have two completely different ways to get to the internet and have identical results!

I'm convinced that the ASUS website/hosting is a total POS. I can reach asus.com.tw (but cannot read it!). Global is down. Norwegian is working luckily.

I just find this rather disturbing that such a big manufacturer can allow their website to become unreliable like this. It's ALWAYS slow regardless of my connection. Outside of being in a major US city, today I have the best connection (a DS1 handout to wifi) and have these problems. Unacceptable! :|

I usually don't rant about much of anything but if I could I'd probably use my Asus boards as skeets right now. :|

I'm pretty sure this has been the way of the ASUS website for as long as I can remember (so circa 2001, probably earlier). This and the fact that ASUS is synonymous for "RMA" and I've had to RMA 99% of the boards I've bought within a few months are primary reasons I refuse to touch ASUS hardware. eVGA has now gained almost all of my business.

I STILL have one of their $300 780i boards absolutely brand new in the box in my closet because it never worked and I RMA'd it twice and simply got the same board back both times. If anyone wants it for a steal let me know.

Gigabyte is the same way - the site works until you try to download something, then it completely bogs down their server. It makes no sense and it's a terrible customer experience :p

I work very closely with Asus - and it has always been an issue. It's worse now, as they are doing a pretty major redesign. I tell my Asus rep all the time - they know of it, not sure they will ever fix it.

its sometimes down for me, but whenever i have to DL files, i choose "global" and i get them at a reasonable pace (~80-100 kb/s)

never had a problem with their hardware in 10 years

the design of the site is total crap though

You want to know why they are slow?
Because they want you to buy more motherboards, that's why! - Chris Rock
