This is really extreme case-modding :)

I have been case-modding and overclocking for years and years, but now I have decided to make the most extreme case-modding I have ever done.

Completely homemade in wood 🙂

Hope you like my case-mod, and yes it is overclocked, It's a celeron-d 420 1.8@2,4 😉 Once a nerd, always a nerd.

A couple of guys in my old neighborhood have been building these for a couple years, they're pretty neat. I helped them pick out the components and wire everything up. They actually sell them for anywhere from $800 to $3000 depending on model and software.

Found a problem with the homepage concerning firefox and opera, it's fixed now, so maybe that was the problem? Anyway it is fixed now. Sorry

Wow, very cool. I wish I had the space to work on something like this. Very cool.

How much did all of the basic supplies cost you? (In other words, just for the lumber, plexi, primer, paint, etc. to make the chassis, how much was it?) I don't care as much about the light/speaker/CPU.

Besides the computer, monitor and light, the rest has cost about $625, including the artwork. Without the artwork, it's more like ¤200

Wow, didn't realize the art was that expensive. That's ok though, I'd be happy in the short term with a nice coat of paint like you had. If it was just $200 for the basics I might have to make this into a summer project next year.

It would be about $200 for wood, plexi and some basic paint I think.

The controls cost about $125 i think.

So if you have the PC, you could make a nice cabinet for $325, maybe even less.

I actually got some self-adhensive vinyl printet in 3000mm x 500mm for about $45. So thats pretty cheap. Unfortunate I paid a lot another place the first time 🙁

If that sort of thing floats your boat, even if it doesn't float mine, I think it's pretty hot!

When you said "wood," I thought you were talking about a cabinet the same dimensions as a regular ATX case.

Some Ukrainian guy won the Maximum PC Magazine "mod-of-the-month," with fine cabinet-work and this gothic -- very "Russian Orthodox" -style carving. After that, I figured, per my own case mods and submission to either CPU Magazine and MaX PC -- "What's the USE?!!!"

I wanted a MAME machine.

However as i grew older, i got lazier, and i dont think i could possibly stand up and play something for long prolong periods of time. :T

Actually the new cabinet is a countertop model. In other words, you can sit down in your couch while playing 😉
