I've spoken to Middle Eastern people about this plenty of times to try and figure out what they really are so mad about. What i got from them is that the US trys to sit back and play the "Big Brother that nobody $%^$$ with" that sticks his hand in the cookie jar(or oil reserve) whenever its convenient for him. We sit around like we're untouchable and nothing can happen to us, and then we go over there once in a while and butt in their business, never really staying long enough to try and see what the real problems are over there. So what happened? We got touched.
In no way do I support what happened this morning, but I see why it happened. Stick your nose in other people's business and it might get cut off.
