I was looking for this but couldn't find it. I would be a terrible OP because I ain't going to be updating anything and I would just abandon this thread in a matter of weeks, but I need to find a place to rant. So best you all forget this is a real long-term thread and move on....

Did anyone watch the Duke/Kansas game last night?

I can't say that I recall a worse-officiated game in my life. Something like 4 players on each team with 4 fouls by the time we got to ~5 minutes left in the game. Slow as hell this game, too. I recall one good off-the-ball hold called near the end, but so much of this was ticky-tack nonsense. Just unbelievable

I guess the one positive is that it was, at least, equally horrible for both teams.

Didn't watch that game. But did watch Georgetown and Maryland -- what a come back and collapse.
Also watched UW and Creighton -- ugh. Stupid Badgers. That's a game you gotta win!

Thanks for making this the OFFICIAL THREAD!

At least college has a valid reason for starting their season at this point. it's just retarded that the NBA has this soon.

Nah. It's garbage that the NBA season goes into June! Then again, the NBA is just a garbage product.

UK looks like much stronger team this year than last. Legitimate big men, a couple three point threats, a pretty gifted PG that can score, and Briscoe looks hungry. They manhandled MSU.

UK unquestionably has a better team. They are overflowing with talent.
That being said, it's funny how experience counts in crunch time like the NCAA tourney. We'll see if it pans out this year, but I suspect it won't.
I do really miss the days when players stuck around -- I get why they don't but I do still miss it.

yeah, NBA needs to shave 1 round out of its playoffs and go back to best of 5 for the first round (or is it still there? I forget).

lol--like any of that will ever happen.

ya. I have no interest in any Calipari team since the days of UMass and returning back from the NBA--I finally realized that he was a scummy dude...not that this necessarily informs his targeted recruiting of one-and-doners, but it just adds to his shadiness to me. It affects all of college bball, obviously, but he's so brazen with creating this instant championship mill every season. Never feel like there is ever an actual "team" in Kentucky anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if that same MSU team returns at the end of the season/tourney and manhandles Kentucky. Izzo is the bomb.

8 vs 1 round is just ridiculously stupid.

Agree with everything here.
