New York Yankees pitcher Chien-Ming Wang, of Korea talks to third base coach Larry Bowa (50) before the start of the Yankees' game with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays Monday, Sept. 25, 2006 in St. Petersburg, Fla. (AP Photo/Chris O'Meara)

He's Taiwanese!!

That's pathetic. The pitcher for the Rays tonight, though, IIRC, is Korean so maybe that't he source of confusion?

shrug. i was just surprised that espn can't get the origin of yankee's winnest pitcher right. it's not like there're many taiwanese player in the mlb.

why is this unacceptable when most americans can locate neither Korea nor Taiwan on a map?

so you're saying it's ok to be ignorant as long as you're an american?

i don't mean to be rude but i don't understand why people have such mentality. There's a world outside of US and in case you didn't know we haven't won in any international sports competition lately, and that includes baseball.
