It is a thread about parodies....

Seriously, why is everyone so down on them? I mean, yeah, most of them are absolutely terrible, and when they get out of hand, it needs to be stopped. I can absolutely see why the mods need to ban SOMEONE to put a scare into the plebes in order to stop a string of parodies that covers the entire first page.... BUT, who here hasn't enjoyed a good parody? For that matter, how common are parody threads on other forums -- not very common, I believe. Here ATers have elevated it to a form of art -- it's a part of our AT national culture, I say.

parodies are supposed to be funny. i have yet to see one on here that was. if they were actually funny, it might be different. also, when you get 10 parody threads about the same thing, it kind of ruins the forum.

other forums don't do it because they know parody threads are stupid and pointless?

I don't mind the majority of them. Ones that are done good are hilarious. I don't really see a problem, unless like you said, there were a ton of them, but they're aren't.

So you're admitting that you've enjoyed a parody thread then. It's classic AT.

Like the whole air conditioner thing. I mean, yeah, it was really annoying at the time, but now it's a classic event in AT 'history' (albeit recent history).

dude, he's a l;ifer thats been here 4 years and he think he may have seen 1 (one, uno) humorous parody thread. thats not a good track record.

It's kind of funny that depending on who you are, your parody might just be locked instead of you getting beat down with the ban stick. I wish I had Modular Favor. 🙁

Sure I have. I wouldn't call it classic, though...more like an annoying symptom of AT. 😛

Some people are just sticks in the mud about 'stupid' humor. If he's seen one that he enjoyed, then there were plenty that others were amused by.
