I believe history will look at this as the end of the 13-yr war in the desert. This is simply taking care of old unfinished business.

I think our President has our best interests in his heart by attempting to close this ugly chapter in our history.

I sincerely hope Saddam lays down and doesnt try to bomb Saudi Arabia or Israel or Kuwait and the US troops with any sort of chemical bomb... and if he dares too I hope Israel or the US lays the nuclear smack down on him. I really hope that idiot doesnt think he can take on the US and the Brits and anybody else who decides to grow some balls.

Saddam needs to die. He wants to be a martyr so I say lets make him another martyr to join the millions of faceless martyrs he created.

And in the mean time, tear down all those posters and portraits of him. What an arrogant f*ck, how can those "peace lovers" possibly support such an arrogant and brutal dictator? I guess it's because they dont live in a country where talking about Saddam in a negative fashion can get you killed. Small detail to the people mindlessly chanting "give peace a chance" while people in Iraq are scrounging for food.

I can understand (if not fully agree) with your point of view right up until the bit about dropping a nuclear bomb. IMHO that would be an act of terrorism.

I though this had been cleared up! I don't care what the government may have been spinning you - if you don't support a war - you are not necessarily supporting Saddam Hussein! It means that you don't support the method - it doesn't mean that you necessarily disagree with the aims!

If you want to make this a moral issue - you can tell me what the US is doing to aleviate suffering in countries that are pro-US (like Saudi Arabia for instance or Isreal). This isn't about morals. This is about disarmament.

I disagree, Bush has to go to war because of pride now, not much else

Would it make you happy if Bush cowered down and showed fear? I hear that acting afraid makes all of your potential enemies simply give up before they even think about attacking you because they are fearful of hurting your sensitive side.

Screw that, after 9/11(which I haven't forgotten and yes, you simplistic fools, Saddam had no yet proven link to 9/11) I am not in a mood to take chances.

I would like to take Saddam's own personal philosphy about security and apply it to our security. If in doubt, remove that person. It's better to bury a good person instead of letting a bad one live who might bring you harm...

I guess there's no point tryng to debate with you then. Go ahead and shout some more names if it makes you feel any more certain about your stance.

What suffering is there in Israel? The only suffering they have is due to the Palestinians.

History won't look at squat. History's done. Gone. History.

They'll be scrounging for something else after your proposed "nuclear smack."

You need to read around this a bit more. Start a thread asking about the above and I'm sure lots of people will give you some helpful information.

If you hope we nuke Saddam and his people then you're a twat! That would be catastrophic for the people and for world relations!

Not many ever do, but you tend to get stuck with them, especially when dictators and tyrants get involved...

With urban combat to be involved, the cost for this war will be higher than the last one.

Heavy as they are, the costs of action must be weighed against the price of inaction. If Saddam defies the world and we fail to respond, we will face a far greater threat in the future. Saddam will strike again at his neighbors. He will make war on his own people.

And mark my words, he will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them.

Bill Clinton Dec 1998 Briefing on Iraq

The Clinton administration along with the Brits did strike several military targets in Iraq but that was about the extent of it. The inspectors never went back and Saddam basically just laughed at us. GW Bush is doing what the last administration didn't want to do and just kicked the can up the road.

Sometimes you have to do what's right and actually back up what you say and not worry about how the poll numbers may look.

Great... let's make a martyr out of Saddam Hussein and give muslim arabs even more reason to want to murder us.
