This is me complaining about PDF annotation

So, can someone explain to me why Preview, a free app with Mac OS, can offer more PDF annotation features than most people would possibly need (thought bubble AND talk bubble? That's handy), and iBooks allows for at least notes and highlights on ePub books, but yet allows for NO annotations on PDFs?

Is that Apple just being mean to me personally, or is there a good reason for this?

I only hope that with tomorrow's announcement, they'll update iBooks to allow this. But somehow, I doubt they will.

I just don't understand the dichotomy. TONS of annotations for PDFs with preview, some annotations for ePubs in iBooks, but NOTHING for PDFs in iBooks?

Sigh.
