how long ago did you have the 4 wisdom teeth pulled? could be a piece that broke off during the extraction that is working it's way out.

That was my first thought. it happened to me after mine were pulled (years ago)

As I understand it that's not all that rare really. I had my 4 wisdoms pulled a few years back. I was under when they pulled them and it did hurt for the next week or so but it wasn't really all that bad.
