This is killing me :)

I have my new system half ready to build, and the wait is just killing me 🙂. I'm upgrading after a year of running a tbird 900 Mhz, not that the system wasn't fast enough but it was time for change 🙂. I have my new motherboard and cpu's here Thunder K7, and dual 1.4's, but the damn powersupply wont be here for another week 🙁, those 460 watt's are hard to source and even harder to get shipped to Canada. Can't wait to piece this system together and run some tests 🙂. Just thought I'd share.

**Mmm...dual 1.4 Athlons!..** That's gonna be one heckuva rig!! Is it going to be your personal plaything, or part of the Anandtech Armada?

Ah, I know; you're gonna crack RC5 w/it, aren't you? 🙂 Should get some blazing results w/that bad-boy. Congrats on a killer beast of a system and best of luck to you!

This is for myself, yeah I will get cracking again once its all built. Using a dual p3 450 right now, ewww. But getting a good taste of what these atlas 10k2's will be like. Thanks guys, this will be a fun rig to build.

OMG... 460W???? I just read a post saying 400W and my eyes went out of my sockets. Now this?? OUCH...

Realize ugh that this is going to be running two 1.4 ghz Cpu's. Nice rig Zuni, let us know how it turns out. 🙂

I definitely do. What I'd like to know is how many components can be placed in the system with the 460W PS.

Hey Zuni's Canadian? Cool I didn't know that 😀

<< Zuni Why dont you just grab your power supply right here in Ottawa?

Deals Direct as them in stock, they even have a Enermax 650watter.

I think the K7 Thunder requires a custom PSU. For some reason Tyan didn't use standard ATX + Aux Server/ATX12V. They went custom PSU :|🙁

Ugh: I have an Enermax 430Watt for my single Duron 750@1000 😉 2 Hard Drives, 3 Optical Drives, 1 Zip drive, 2 RAM sticks, a GeForce256-DDR and at one time 5 PCI cards (though I'm down to 3 now)

Damn I feel underpowered AND undercomponentized. Just curious, how in the world did you manage to fill 5 of them PCI slots? I max out with 2: sound card and NIC. Perhaps you have a 2nd vid card and a firewire card and a winmodem? 😉

Hey budman, actually they don't carry the powersupply 🙂. But thanks for the link. NMB, Delta are the only two. Remember these 460's are propietary to the Dual Athlon board, specifically the Thunder K7

Hahahah that was extmrely funny 😉

[*]Promise Ultra 100 (I have 6 IDE drives remember)
[*]Sound Card
[*]NIC
[*]Hollywood Plus DVD player (for when I do have a TV beside my computer).

Okay, I think I've composed myself now.

Well, Zuni, that is one beast of a computer! Enjoy it! 😀

I thought that the Athlon MP's were only at 1Ghz and 1.2Ghz at the moment, or can you run two 'normal' Thunderbirds in the Thunder K7?

<< so the ps is the hardest component to find for dualie athlon. :frown:

you even have the expensive (understatement) mb
>>

From your point of view, but for the market it is intended for, it is very competitive.

Perhaps when the PS aren't that hard to find, we'll see dual Althon setups as the norm? 😀
