My children get Child Health Plus, which is health insurance for children under the age of 19. We decided to go with this instead of the insurance my husband can get at work because it is much cheaper and it covers everything.
I had to recertify my children, and when I did, my daughter was denied because they think she is eligable for Medicaid. My husband grosses 1,120.00 a week, which would make it impossible for them to get medicaid, to me this is just commom sense. But they want me to get a denial from medicaid, so I told them fine, I will do that.
I called our local dept of Social Services and the woman is telling me we are eligable!! They are trying to tell me that since half of his pay is perdiem that they can't count it. His perdiem is 560.00, but he only uses about 125.00 of it for work related expenses, we get to keep the rest.
There is something seriously wrong here, people who make almost 60,000 a year should not be able to get Social Services. I am going to have to talk to the supervisor over there, obviously these people have no idea what they are doing.
