I'm seeing Casino Royale spots all over the place and I still can't believe that Daniel Craig can pull it off with any kind of the necessary suave.

I don't know, the trailers make it look pretty good and it seems to be getting decent reviews by the few who've seen it.

I'll probably check it out.

he does a look a bit better as it looked like he slim down abit and put on some muscle for the role.

BUt I refuse to watch the movie.

Casino Royale is supposed to be how bond became 007. Yet he somehow has more advance weapons than previous bonds?

While I was waiting for Borat to come on in the theaters last night they showed a trailer of Casino Royale. Craig seemed to pull off Bond's suave pretty well from what I saw, though not as well as Brosnan.

He has that bad Timothy Dalton bond look IMO. Timothy Dalton didn't cut it, and my guess is that this guy wont either.

Brosnan = Suave.
It's very hard for ANYONE to pull it off as well as Brosnan.

As a long time bond fan I am disappointed by their selection for the new bond. He just doesn't look the part. I'll have to see the movie before I pass final judgment.

QFT, but he turned it down.

This asshat looks like Bill Gates with slicked-back, a fancy suit and Donald Trump's mouth.

Brosnan did an excellent job in the movies he stared in. Not as awesome as Sean Connery but Connery in my opinion is up there on a Chuck Norris type level except British.

I haven't seen it, but from the trailers it appears there's a flashback sequence showing his first two kills to get his double-o license. Then it's back in present day. I'd have to look at the trailer more closely to see if he's using the PPK or the P99 in the black and white scenes.

If you couldn't already guess, I am looking forward to the movie. I hope it's better than Die Another Day at least.

Get over it, Craig is going to be awesome as the new Bond. Suave is one thing, but Brosnan was too reliant on being suave and lost the physicality of being Bond. They've said that the series has gotten stagnant and wanted to go in another direction...I'm all for it.

I will be there on release day as I've been eagerly awaiting it ever since they announced Daniel Craig and Eva Green. (Go see "The Dreamers" for some...NSFW material on Green :D)

All you guys who say Craig is not suave enough for the role, probably think that he is not a pretty boy like Brosnan. Why does 007 have to be a pretty boy? He looks lot more bad ass than Brosnan, and that's the only thing that counts.

wikipedia notes some issues with continuity.

In this new time-line several elements of the Bond franchise have been adjusted, and now contradict the established continuity from earlier films. Examples of this include Judi Dench's reprisal of her role as M, who in the Brosnan Bond films was established as a successor to an earlier male M; however, in Casino Royale, she will be the first M by whom Bond is employed. Bond will also receive his famed Aston Martin DB5 in Casino Royale, first seen in Goldfinger. Publicity shots have also shown Bond wielding a Walther P99, a gun he first adopted in Tomorrow Never Dies, though the iconic Walther PPK of previous films is used in the first part of the film. Felix Leiter, Bond's long time CIA friend, whom Bond had previously first met (although he had heard of him) in Dr. No and had been maimed in his last appearance in Licence to Kill, will be introduced for the first time in Casino Royale, as in the book. Although Leiter has been portrayed by a wide variety of Caucasian actors throughout the series, this is only the second Bond film in which he will be played by an African-American actor (Jeffrey Wright; Bernie Casey previously played Leiter in the film, Never Say Never Again, an officially licensed film that was not produced by Eon Productions and is, thus, not part of the series continuity).

That could be, but wouldn't that be the director's fault, not the actor's? IMHO, we should have been watching Brosnan as Bond earlier than we were (Remington Steele got in the way, I guess) and should still be watching him for a few more movies.

Other than Connery, Brosnan was/is Bond.
