if she's a friend of a friend, I'd completely trash her to your mutual friend for being a wise and beautiful woman.

We had an agreement for me to pick her up today.

She gave her to someone else instead (knowingly).

It wouldn't be "knowingly" if she forgot. Regardless with the very specific expectations you have for acquiring a dog, problems are going to be a part of the process.

Good luck with finding another breeder.

I talked to her last night, on the phone, and we specifically spoke about me, my name and everything (with the implication of showing my I.D. even), picking up the blonde female of the litter tomorrow night (tonight). There is no excuse at all other than she just didn't want to wait and is an inconsiderate, rude prick of a woman.

So you're saying that this is normal and should be expected because of the breed I want? Did you read that she isn't a breeder?

Anything else?

Given the extreme nature of the transgression, I believe that arson in this case is an acceptable response.

Cash talks bs walks. Yes you had an agreement but the other person was there with cash. If you've ever tried selling something on craigslist you know how many flakes there are out there. Sorry if someone has cash in hand that trumps the guy on his way tomorrow.

You should try not getting so worked up about shit, bad for your health.

No no no, fuck that and your way of thinking. They had an AGREEMENT. The dog owner AGREED to let the OP have the dog and after it all, backed out of the agreement. It's a dick move at the very least. This isn't a typical "Hey, I want your washing machine, hold it for me for a few days" type of CL deal, it was an agreement for a living creature that the OP less than 24 hours earlier had discussed with the person and then followed up with a phone call about.

EDIT: I always tell people it's a first come/first serve person with the money gets it type of deal but in this case, the seller told the buyer he/she would hold it for him.

Do you happen to be in Southern California? We foster dogs for a local shelter and have a really cool white poodle right now. I hear they are good for people who want low dander dogs.

After carefully assessing the situations, I've come to the only reasonable conclusion: murder her entire family.

Sorry dude I feel for you. There is nothing like the smell of puppy breath and you go that yanked away from you.

Just means that something else will come along. Hopefully soon.

this is a good thing really. you dont need a particular dog or even a "favorite" breed. there are tons of mutts that need to be saved. when you buy from a puppy mill youre supporting all sorts of animal abuse

why are people here not getting that sometimes people have puppies (and much more frequently kittens since it's easier to find adopters) WITHOUT being a breeder? You know, not for the money, not a puppy mill, just letting nature go its way because you like puppies or have a farm, or by mistake.

My old dog had a puppy too. Big deal.

With shelter dog adoption, it's a hit or miss when it comes to health, but they don't necessarily have psychological problems although it happens. If you stick with young dogs you can change them.
Buying in a parking lot/from a puppy mill that doesn't let you visit the location is a guarantee of health problems.
Buying from a proper and well-known dog breeder with proper structures, cats and stuff costs money but you have guarantees, except for the typical health problems of the race in question.

When the pups are old enough to be given away, you can't wait too much. So the lady was cunty for doing what she did but she did her own and the dog's interest. For what she knew, you could have been the 100th flake and then she'd be stuck with the dog, after a certain threshold (proper age to be separated from the other puppies and mother but young enough to be trained) the older the dog is the more difficult it is to give away. There are so many flakes in selling stuff on the internet, there are even more in animal adoption because it's such a big commitment and people often look form multiple sources before deciding so they often end up flaking out.
