undecided on graphics as of yet......the total above is £600 roughly leaving me nearly 400 to spend wisely i am thinkin bout an x800pro

way i see it i want a rig to play UT2004, Cn C generals, Counterstrike, HL2, D3 and maybe some others, i am goin to uni so wont be doin much upgrading or indeed buying of games either (except stalker) so really i dont need a rig to last to play future games, ill be playin UT2004 for a long time and this rig can play it excellent after lookin at a lot of benches, shouldnt have any trouble with games from this year and next

personally i would go with the 6800GT. I have no idea on the PSU but people here tend be afraid of other PSUs than antec.enermax fortron and the likes. personally ive never had any PSU issues.. if you intend to run the system at stock settings i have nothing to really remark on.

stock settings yes....but went with the abit an its k8t800 pro, so that later wen socket 754 isnt the standard (if it is now) i can have a little more oppertunity to get somemore performance (talkin at least a year at stock settings tho)

the x800pro i have found is £286 (cheaper than 6800gts and more avaiable) Gecube counterstrike edition too!

I'd probably spend a little extra on an Antec/Sparkle they have there. The PSU you have listed doesn't even give the specs in detail. I wouldn't trust that nice rig to what may be generic power.

Otherwise, looks good.

ditto

When you're talking about 6800ultra vs. x800xt there is room for debate, but the 6800gt clearly beats out the x800pro (at seemingly similar price points). Personally, I'll be waiting (possibly for a long time:() for the arrival of HL2 before making my selection.
