I would download the newest Soundcard and Vidcard drivers. Other than that you should be set. :)

looks good. the taisol hsf clip looks like it will be nice and easy to install...on the contrary. in my opinion it is better to get someone to help you install the sucker. have them hold the heatsink on the proccessor, and you push the clip down with a screwdriver or something. and i think it is easier to do it when the mobo is not in the case.

Why the K7 Master-S if you aren't using the SCSI? Why not just the K7 Master (same board, no scsi, cheaper).

Get the newest Video and Audio drivers, and AMD AGP driver (4.8 for Win98/ME, 5.22 for Win2k). And the Via 4in1 4.32V.
Make sure you don't install the Via AGP Driver though, you have an AMD north bridge.

The Taisol clip ROCKS. Hold it down with one hand, use a screwdriver in your other hand to fasten the clip. Easy, secure, & worry-free.

AMD actually recommends that you stick with the TIM that comes with the HS, & if you don't plan on tweaking things constantly (install/uninstall the CPU, etc.) I wouldn't bother with the ASII. AS has a tendency to work it's way out from under the core, the TIM will be much more permanent.

Other than that it looks good, have fun.

No, no, no. Not the MSI K7, get the Epox 8K7A, + if you want RAID. I think the Epox is way better, unless you want the SCSI.

Nice rig! Excellent advice so far. Why are you going with a slot DVD? For "bragging rights?" Just curious.

Although HP has a combo CDRW/DVD-read with $100 rebate (see HotDeals), separate DVD & CDRW's may be preferable, but more expensive. Wish Plextor made a DVD drive...

First I would get a WD instead of IBM

get a SB live instead, there alot more compatible

For the heatsink go 1coolpc.com

DO NOT listen to circut.

First I would get a WD instead of IBM

This is opinion, but for the most part I've heard better about IBM

get a SB live instead, there alot more compatible

This is a total lie, ESPECIALLY with the via southbridge. Plus it sounds like garbage compared to the TB Santa Cruz.

I think that's the first time I have seen someone in these forums say not to use Artic Silver 2. Crazy! Not that that's important, just thought I would mention it. You have made some good choices there and that should be an awesome system. Have Fun!
