before i start i'm sorry for my spelling

Right i purchased a duron 700 and a KT7-RAID and a FOP38 globalwin HSF (the best around)

I tryed about 4 times to unlock the duron by using a pencil to bridge the L1 cashes.

But this method does not work and is a waste of peoples time.

The way you unlock the duron is simple and u will need the following equipment:

a cocktail stick
some conductive paint (in the UK this can be purchased from Maplins or you can use a rear window defogger repair kit, its basicly the same stuff but i could only get conductive paint)
and a magnify glass i used a 20x (the ones that jewlers use but a 6x will do)

Before i start i will give you 1 piece of advice try and borrow some conductive paint because i only used about 0.2mm of the stuff and the bottle cost me £7

First thing:

remove the cpu from the MoBo and place it on a non-metal object (i used some foam)

Second:
Shake the bottle of paint very well and then open and dip in the cocktail stick. You do not need to cover the cocktail stick in the stuff just a dab will do.

Third:
very carefully use the cocktail stick to re-bridge the gaps between all 4 of the L1 cashes.

to start with just apply a very thin coating of paint with the tip of the cocktail stick.

let it dry for a few seconds.

You can use the cocktail sticks side to place the paint over the gaps more easerly

Fourth:
Use the magnifying glass to check that the gaps are complete and that you can not see any of the orignal points, also make sure that none of the bridges have been crossed if they have don't panic just use a pin and scratch away the paint (it does work)

Fith:
let the paint dry for a couple of minutes and then but your system back together
then all you have to do is change the multipler settings in the bois and your laughing.

results:
after 2 minutes i could jack the cpu up to 900 (9*100)
i am trying to get it up to 1Ghz i will post my progress if i hit this target

have fun

:p ob, don't ruin his fun. personally, i'm anti-pencil. it's not meant to conduct and will dstop working over time. my defogger kit material should do just fine for years to come.

Hmm ... what happens if you accidently connect 2 of the bridges and don't scratch it away? Does it result in a huge explosion :)P) or will it just refuse to boot?

First time I tried the pencil trick I had to redo it 6 times before I could get a Duron 600 to overclock to 900MHz.

Within a month I replaced that chip with a Duron 700. Got the pencil thing right the first time. (Thereby proving that practice does indeed make perfect.) The Duron 700 runs stable at 1083MHz.
