This is how a Police Officer in America acts when there are no consequences

When is this going to change? Every day it gets more ridiculous. Every day, we see Police acting as if there are no consequences whatsoever to engaging in blatantly criminal activity. I fear we have already passed the point of no return. Our government is corrupt from the top down and there are thus no consequences that can be handed out to dissuade this sort of abuse.

Also, notice the tone of the article. Read the words used. He "slapped" her. Watch the video and tell me if that looked like a "slap" to you. Why is ABC news covering this in a way to make it sound like all he did was give her a "love tap"?

A father is under arrest after allegedly beating his daughter at school.

The attack was caught on camera -- and shows school employees going about their business and doing nothing to stop him.

The father, Raymond Emilio Rosario, is also a Miami-Dade police officer with a position at an airport.

Police say on March 19th, a teacher called to tell him his 14-year-old daughter was being disrespectful.

After he arrived at the school's front office, surveillance video shows him slapping his daughter in the face, grabbing her by the hair and striking her twice on the legs with a belt.

Employees didn't intervene at the time but did eventually report the incident to the Florida Department of Children and families.

Rosario surrendered to authorities for child abuse with no great bodily harm on April 2.

The Miami-Dade Police Department suspended him with pay.

I guess you can always move. Or maybe get some perspective.

Ah, the typical conservative answer: "If you don't like watching people get abused by the US government, move somewhere else! This is E-Muricah!"

FIVR I have to agree with you on this topic. I've seen enough from FL LEO's to know they act like Judge Dredd.

Did you watch the video? It's brutal.

If anybody is wondering what the consequences he has faced so far have been: He was suspended with pay. Not being sarcastic, that's the truth.

He was arrested. Let's see what happens.

Imagine what this guy does to average, every day citizens of Florida if this is the way he treats his 14yo daughter. Imagine what he does with his wife.

Fuck me. Gut instinct/reaction is I need to fuck this dude up... Thank god I do not respond to gut reactions like some police evidently do. Fuck that guy.

The guy needs treatment, obviously not in zen with himself, so sucks to be him. Sucks to be people close to him too.. There should be clinics like for substance abuse where these people should go and get treatment for extended periods of time..

if you tried to F this guy up he would shoot you, say he feared for his life, and he'd get an award for valor. You can't touch guys like these. US law enforcement in southern states like florida are basically Gods among men. that's how the law treats them and how they regard themselves.

No no not at all. When I see I live in a country full of abusive police I climb the highest diving tower I can find in winter and dive into an empty pool. I love being an irrational kook running around screaming 'corrupt police' are falling from the sky on top of my head. As a person who feels threatened by my own insignificance, I feel all the drama I can muster adds to my self importance. I am afraid and I demand you listen to me. I am an entitled American and demand I walk around feeling safe.

The number of corrupt abusive police you've personally met in your lifetime probably requires not even one finger to count. Why not become a cop and deal with countless pieces of scum everyday for years and years and see how objective you remain. With a character as shallow as yours, it won't be much more than a week and you'd be calling for death to all criminals. Grow the fuck up and get a spine. The problems of law enforcement are profoundly challenging. It will take serious study and effort and long hard work to improve a bad situation. In the mean time you would do well if you for some reason come in contact with the police to say yes and no sir. Your attitude is ripe for becoming a statistic.

What does it say about you that you think the citizens of this country are "scum" and that "having to deal with them" results in people beating 14 year old girls publicly and facing no consequences?

To me, it says that you are just one more authoritarian scum-sucker who would gladly bend over for any sort of "paper's please" bullshit as long as the "right people" face the "right consequences".

Of course, if those "right people" just happen to be black, or hispanic, or poor... that's just a coincidence. You believe in "law and order", after all. They should follow the laws!

According to this source he's been charged. There are different standards for police and I'm not arguing that point, but I'm not sure if he's off the hook just yet.

https://thefreethoughtproject.com/cop-attacks-daughter-school-employees-make-no-attempt-stop-him/

How much you want to bet that he will plea it down to some bullshit misdemeanor charge once the smoke clears, I give it 65-75% odds that he even gets to keep his job after a nice paid vacation.

A couple of very valid points made already in the thread though, if he was willing to do this to his daughter in public what has he done behind closed doors?

And just as important, if he is willing to do this to a 14 year old girl in public how does he treat citizens that he interacts with where, for all intents and purposes, he really is above the law.

BTW, the reporting keeps harping on the fact that no one stopped him from assaulting her. I honestly can't blame them, trying to stop an enraged cop is very likely going to lead to you getting your ass whooped too and quite possibly a trip to the pokey. Sure the charges will probably be dropped, at least if it is on video like this was, but you still get to spend the night in jail and probably have to pay to get bailed out and all that fun stuff. If it isn't on video then it's a crap shoot if the charges stick or not.

Here we go with the the bigot justifying his bigotry as self righteousness. Spend some time as a cop and see if you, with your weak sense of moral probity, don't wind up seeing people as scum. You have already managed to say that about the police with little but anecdotal evidence. I acknowledged there is a problem, but that you are unfit to to input anything rational to its solution. You are an hysteric and when told that fact try to turn me into a scum sucker and racist bigot.

My point is that as a nut case you only make the solution to police brutality one more nut case in the way of solving it. How do you expect to find out you're nuts if somebody doesn't tell you? I have all the same wild and insane reactions as you do to the problem but I don't take my wild insanity seriously. I am far far more aware that I am a kook than you are. Actually, you're kind of tame in comparison to me. I just realized long ago that once I'd killed everybody on earth there would still one human threat remaining, so I just skipped over the prelude and went for the finale. Why not just kill my belief in my own insanity. I still get to be insane and don't have to pay for it by acting it out. Now you can be as smart as me. But you should at least pay me 5 dollars. We never value what we don't pay for.

Those people obviously didn't intervene because they were just taking moonbeam's advice and keeping in mind all the scum he had to deal with that day. Who wouldn't beat the first 14 year old girl they saw with a closed fist after having to deal with all that scum? They were understanding. That's how it's supposed to work: They beat us, then we make excuses for them.

These cans won't pick up themselves, citizens. Let's get to it!

Dude, you've got to understand his perspective. He probably got called out of work to deal with her shit, and on the way his partner called to let him know he missed out on several citizen beat-downs. Had to make up for that somehow.

OP is confusing American cops with his native Russian officers.

Interestingly, one of the few commonalities between the experiences of Americans and Russians is that of being lorded over by an unaccountable and ever-present police and surveillance state.

Based on reading internet forums populated by childless people, that is apparently how children are supposed to be disciplined.
A slap, a good whipping followed by prayer to Mr. Jesus.

Somehow I doubt you make fun of your hero for drooling all over his phone on the toilet all day

On a serious note, the fathers profession is not really relevant.
Violent parents hold all sorts of jobs.

It's relevant because of how he is treated and how the media treats the beating of a child on video. If he was a black teacher he would be in jail and probably halfway to losing custody.
