This is great.

So I've been living with 3 other guys for the past year. Our lease is up next week. We've been looking for a new place for a long time. Originally, we had 2 more guys, and were looking for a 6 bedroom. When it became apparent that we weren't gonna find a nice 6 bedroom, we split into groups of 3.

We've been looking for a 3 bedroom since early June now. There hasn't really been anything that fit the interests of all of us, except this one place. It was really nice, but way too expensive, so we put it off. Fast forward to last week...we find that place is still available, for slightly(very slightly) less, so we figure we still don't have a place...what the hell.

After talking about it for a few days, talking with the landlord, going over our finances, we decide yea its expensive, but we'll go for it. We tell the landlord earlier yes we'll do it, we get our applications and everything. Then one guy starts having doubts...originally he's saying this place is too much, we need to find something cheaper, then that turns to I can't afford an apartment at all, I'm gonna live at home.

If he doesn't want to stay in an apartment at all(he CAN afford it, he just won't really have any spare cash), why the hell did he wait until now, a week before we move out, to decide that?? He never even mentioned that to us in the 4 months we've been looking for places. We could have been looking at 2 bedrooms all summer...I'm sure there's still some available, but now we're gonna have to settle for something that isn't as nice. Very frustrating.

...."As The Stomach Turns.....starring, Deeko...."

Yet another exciting chapter of your less than idyllic college life, eh?

You can live with me. But you have to put up with me and the guys dancing naked to house music every Tuesday and Thursday night. You might like it? PM me and we'll talk.

:Q

Insert mandatory A/S/L? here

At least he told you before you signed the lease. Perhaps he would have gone for it had it been cheaper. Now he was put in a position that he was the weak link in the group so even if you all said lets find another place he'd be getting crapped on. I don't blame him, but, it still sucks for you.

Maybe it'll work out for the best.

yet another reason why I live alone..

too many variables to consider when sharing an apart...

what if one guy graduates? what if one guy got a job far away??

granted the $$$ savings is great.... but wayy troublesome

(and you cant walk around nekkid 😀😀)

I asked him, what if the landlord will drop it more(cuz hey, they haven't rented it in months at this price...I'm sure they're as desparate as us). He said no, he's living at home regardless now.

Sounds like my kinda party, where can I sign up? Oh and can I do some dancing too?

College kids arent' all irresponsible, I'm in college and i'm fairly responsible, except for the occassional lapses in good judgement caused by alcoholic beverages/illegal narcotics/anime obsession...j/k except for the anime obsession part.

Maybe your friend is just tired of living with so many people???

Oh, that's right. He doesn't HAVE a GF. 😀 That was his OTHER thread. Don't you remember?

I wouldn't go that far. I stopped updating the other thread cuz I got bored with it, but much more has occurred since then.
