where can I find simple, plain 5.25 black bezel plates? Nothing on them, no accessories, media readers, floppys, nothing. Just the plain plate.

Depends on what kind of case they need to fit.

They're not "universal."

well, my issue is that I've got a coolermaster CM stacker 810, and it only has curved, mesh bezels for 5.25 bays. I want a solid, flat one that I can drill holes into so I can install activity leds for my 8 hd's. Could any bezel piece work with a bit of... convincing?

There may be some that fit, but most will not; too many variations of size and clip types. I have an apple crate full of them and every time I need one for some machine, it is a search.

I would think you could make something out of a piece of plexiglass and paint it (Krylon Fusion is great on plastic).
