Three days, you'll survive

Have you ever driven in L.A.?

Have you ever tried to get from the Valley to the City (or visa versa) while there is as little as a stalled car on the side of the road near the Skirball Center Drive Exit, even on a Saturday afternoon?

Closing the 405 essentially makes all travel between the Valley and the City a trip worthy of a new scenario in The Oregon Trail.

Read the article!😡

They are not closing all the 405. Uee something called a map to figure out ways around it.

There are other alternatives and this also is on a weekend, not a weekday

Google maps shows that you should be able to use the 101 and loop back if needed.

There are also the side streets. Beverly Glenn runs parallel to the 405 on the east side.

Carmaggedon!!!

yeah...it's gonna suck. I remember one time they shut that freeway down. Some asshole switched up the detour signs so that everybody ended up going in circles.

I read the article, and many like it.

They are closing the 405 at about where I mentioned. And I do not need a map. I know all the ways around the 405 since I drive from the Valley to the Westside, and back, every work day without using the 405.

Traffic on the alternatives (Laurel, Coldwater, Beverly Glen, Sepulveda), even on the weekends, when there is an obstruction in the Mullholland Pass on the 405 (let alone a closure), become almost undrivable.

Have you heard about 395 by the Pentagon today? Glad I don't work there.

ARLINGTON, Va. - A man with a backpack found in Arlington Cemetery early Friday prompted authorities to shut down major roads around the Pentagon after the man's 2011 Nissan was found in the bushes near the Pentagon's north parking lot off Route 27/Washington Boulevard.

The road closures created a traffic nightmare for commuters coming into D.C. and Arlington Friday morning.

"This is an unfolding situation," says James McJunkin, assistant director in charge at the FBI.

"We've closed all the areas around Arlington Cemetery and the Pentagon that we feel need to be closed," McJunkin says.

"Traffic in the area is pretty messed up."

If I was there, I would turn around and take a 3-day Fathers' Day Weekend.

Oy.

I would too. Many of my buds at the pentagon are taking off.

Rumor has it that ammonium nitrate was found in the backpack of the ethiopian. Not sure wtf he thought he was going to do with that except leave a burn mark in the grass?

One of those things that make me thank my lucky stars I am no longer in the contracting rat race. My last contract was right across 395 from that cluster foxtrot. The media seems to be backing off a bit from those reports, doubt we will know much until the "official" press conference.

As paranoid as they are around here, ANYTHING is suspicious if someone says it is.
If a cop says suspicious, a person calls 911 ans says suspicious, a reporter, school kid, illegal who cant even fucking speak english.
The paranoia is actually kind of scary cuz I know god damn well most of these pussy Virginians couldnt cope with a real problem if one ever came up.

being blown way out of proportion
