One month ago I had a DI-624 router & SpeedStream 6520 DSL modem (Bell branded so I flashed it with Siemens firmware). I realized my SS6520 had router capabilities as well and I was actually running both routers together so I gave my DI-624 away.

Turns out it was a bad decision because my sister's wireless hasn't worked on consecutive days for about 3.5 weeks. Her PC is on the top floor and my router/modem is in the basement (she uses a DWL-G520M 108G MIMO Wireless Adapter).

Whenever she turns on the PC, there is no wireless connection. What should be an automatic 2-3 second connection takes 5-10 minutes as I have to go into her profile and refresh/connect to the right wireless AP or remove/add the wireless profile...

AFAIK, all the wireless settings are correct and match up...i'm using Channel 11 (tried 6), Broadcast SSID, WEP-128bit HEX password, Open Authentication..don't have any 2.4GHz cordless phones near the router or PC........

What is going on?

Either what JackMDS suggested or spend the money to wire it with cable.
Another option , though costly, is to go with 900Mhz wifi, it can penetrate brick, wood, and several floors.
