So I broke my iriver 350 remote (cable wires ripped from pcb) and I need a new one. IRiver's site has it for $25 (which is a tad expensive, but ok). I decide to check out the shipping and.....its $25!!!!!! 25 bux for something that's worth 25 and weights like 20 grams!!! :|:|:|:|:|:|

Fsck iriver. I am gonna try and solder my remote. Anyway, if anyone has a broken imp350/400 and doesn't need the remote...let me know.

Iriver just made The List

$25?!? That just can't be for ground, has to be for something like UPS Overnight or Same Day delivery.

There is a whole interent out there for you to search and find what you need.

Why are you saying "fvck UPS"? That's what iRiver charges to ship it. It's not UPS fault iRiver jacked up the charge.

Fine, then just plain fsck iRiver then. I thought the shipping company set the shipping charges.

And its actually 0.05lb. I am just mad.

Um, no. UPS has the standard rates they charge every customer based off weight, number of packages, and zip code. Each customer can jack up the price they pass onto the customer. At the book company I work for, Ground S&H charges is 6% of the total cost + $4. For 100 of our books, cost of the books is $895. S&H comes out to be $57.70, despite that UPS only charges us about $12 for the order when I enter it into Worldship. Shipping and handling for a lot of companies is just an easy way to make easy profit.

Where the hell do you live?

Iriver's website shows shipping $6 shipping to the East Coast (Virginia)... $5 to West Coast (California)...
and at the most $8 to Midwest (Kansas)

After checking your profile

I see you live in Canada .. well, there's your problem right there.

Seems like iRiver only does Express shipments for International Orders

They're actually giving you a deal since according to UPS.com shipment
from California to Ontario is $40.69

UPS does offer Ground Service to Canada, but it on UPS.com, there's stipulations and
it doesn't include Customs fees.

Probably why iRiver just goes with the Express..

If you're that hard up for the cash, why dont you have shipped to a friend across the border.

Cost me $6 for iRiver to ship me an armband. Kinda high, but not totally outrageous.
