Your second individual project is to review (key word is, "review" do not read the whole document line by line as it is over 100 pages and is about as dry and boring as they come) the Department of Defense?s (DoD), ?Orange Book.? This document is the US Department of Defense Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria, also known as the Orange Book. Although originally written for military systems, the security classifications are now broadly used within the computer industry as a means to measure the security capabilities of an operating system.

The DoD Orange Book contains security categories ranges from D (Minimal Protection) to A (Verified Protection). Thus, it is up to you to review this document and discover where the Windows Network Operating system falls in these categories.
Therefore, analyze the Orange Book and pay special attention to the four categories mentioned above (Appendix). Write a two to three page paper (double spaced with 10 font) briefly reviewing this document, the need for security baselines, and assess whether Windows can be a secure operating system or not. If you cite any other documents or websites be sure to include them as a source.
It's going to be a fun weekend for me :frown: ... I'm guessing it'll take 2-3hrs per page to write.

Uhh, two to three pages. Should be able to pump that out in about twenty minutes. During my old college days I was writing 30 - 50 page marketing reports in less than four.

Wow...that's pretty good! I wonder if a picture counts as a page ;) I wish I can write that fast.

Anubis, thanks for the tip on the font :)

2-3 pages?

Don't make me laugh, that's about 30 minutes if you're REALLY straining your brain. Such an easy topic too..

And it's double-spaced too.

Call me lame...but that doesn't seem like too bad of an assignment. I mean in content, seems interesting.

Better than some of the craptastic assignments I had to do in school.
