Recently, out of the blue, IE stopped connecting to the internet. I only use it occasionally, when Firefox refuses to run something correctly, so I don't know how long ago it decided to do this. IE just refuses to connect to anything, while FireFox still connects fine. I'm not sure what to change other than making sure IE uses automatic detection settings to connect to my broadband connection on a hub. Any ideas?

Holy hell, it WAS Spyware. That's the first thing I would have checked if I wasn't an idiot, thanks for the idea. Seems kinda counter-intuitive, programming spyware to cripple IE so you can't get online, but what do I know.

Thanks again for figuring it out for me, folks.

nice to see that IE is fixed but just use firefox anyway.....better all round....except for those few sites that don't work in firefox.....just use something like Opera or another just not IE
