Meh. Nothing more than a fancy QR code... scan something, phone recognizes it and plays a video that was tagged to it. I can imagine scanning a card someone sent me and waiting two minutes for a video to download...

Pretty cool. A lot of people already have similar applications. I can't remember the name for it, but the iphone has an app where you can point your phone at the stars & it will identify the stars/planets. You can also point the phone around toward the ground and figure out where such things are below the horizon. It also finds the ISS for you, etc.

edit: I agree with the analogy to QR code. I don't know how QR codes ever caught on (or really, even if they did. I don't know anyone who uses them.)

When I saw it recognize the first portrait of the poet (from the TED presentation), I thought it was somehow generating that all dynamically lol, after the rest of the video it's a bit clearer what's going on. Not quite so spectacular, but still cool. Something like that with enough widespread adoption could be really powerful.

I'm too afraid to use them. Way too easy for someone to paste a fake QR code on top of things in public. "Want to learn more about TSA procedures?" <QR> "HAHA, GOATSE FOR YOU!"

They're as dangerous as tinyurl links.

All the QR code readers I've used show you what the URL is before taking you to it.

Still, most people don't use them.
