picture of the case opened

specs:
E6300 1.86ghz
ASUS T3-PH1 (with P5B-BN board inside G965 chipset)
Kingmax DDR2 1gb 667mhz
XFX 7600GS Xtreme (passive cooling)
320gb seagate sata2
18X NEC dvdrw

So the CPU fan sits right in front of the case behind the front cover with minor ventilation on the sides, it idles at 50-52 C with case closed, when load it's around 60. For the 7600GS, at idle it's around 70-71 C, when load it's around 80-85 with case closed. I am a little bit worry about the 7600gs as it idles at 70 C, but there is hardly anything I can do with it with this cramped case. It's a beautiful little piece but air flow sucks bad.

I wonder if using some AS5 for the 7600gs and the cpu will improve a bit? also if there are any quiet fans out there? I just mount it somewhere so it can push the air outta the little case.

that e6300 is too hot. you need ventilation. the AS5 might help a bit but not as much as good airflow which as you say is the major problem.

Good airflow is your best friend!!

Re - doing the thermal paste with As5 is overrated and a waste of time!!
U would be more concerned about trying to add airflow to the case or even getting a different case!!
From the look of things the case has no airflow to speak of even if it has fans where is the air going to flow too...hmmm

ah, just update the bios, now the cpu runs idle at 40-43, load at 56, it should be alright I think?

And the 7600gs is about the same, idle 68, load is about 80, I guess I will just buy a zalman fan for it, when there is no case fan, passive cooling will not work on a videocard, lol

Without any ventilation any cooling device you buy is useless since you will release heat in the case and it will have nowhere to go which in turn will end up heating the other components inside, namely the cpu.

yeah, I don't understand why they have it setup tho, at least I think the case looks fine, just doesn't work like what it should.

for the ventilation, I will put a fan (an external fan) on the back of the machine, I did it once with a big one and it cools the machine down by quite alot, but that fan is noisy lol
