I'm trying to install upgraded drivers for my SoundBlaster Live! Value card with a fresh install of Win2k.

For some reason, it is not installing ANY application that has to do with SoundBlaster..... I've tried a few (even won't install off the CD).

I can install other applications (nothing to do with sound card) perfectly fine.

What gives?

Wrong forum.

anyway, are you getting error messages? Does it seem to go through the install but the programs just aren't in the start menu and don't load? Gotta give us more detail, dude. :)

try to remove the software entirely first ... and esp. go the the concerned folder to check it out !

Then try a fresh install....

also check what I said in your other thread about this

I know wrong forum... but i don't get answers anywhere else :(

Anyhow, nope.. no error messages.

It gets as far as "preparing self-extracting installer" or whatever (you know, that little blue window)..... then it just disappears.

I got to Task Manager....... nothing running, it just kind of doesn't do anything.

Live Value and win2k seem to go best in the basic mode... download the bare sound driver from the web and call it done.

doesn't seem like they offer that

it's just this executable file.... not just a driver :(
