Does something like this exist? I know I could use an editing app but it needs to be a program that displays video with the overlay renderer and editing apps don't use overlay.

So far I've tried Windows Media player (old and new), BSPlayer and Zoom Player. Any other suggestions?

Or if you know an editing app that uses overlay...

edit: also tried VideoLAN player

Quicktime Pro can let you play a section, so I assume it'll let you loop it too.

Never thought of that one and yes it does work but Quicktime isn't overlay. Hmmmm. See I need it to display fullscreen on a TV out and that type of thing only works with overlay.

I will go give virtualdub a try. edit: virtual dub = no overlay unless i missed something, and i couldn't figure out how to loop a section

Also tried Real Player, PowerDVD, and WinDVD (all overlay) and none can loop sections.

What else is there?

Tried every other media player at doom9.

Ironically enough the only editing app that uses overlay to display the video is windows movie maker, yet it is so primitive that you cannot even loop a section.

This is ridiculous. Argh.
