KILLEEN, Texas (AP) -- A Fort Hood soldier and his wife have been accused of injury to a child for allegedly forcing their 3-year-old daughter to beat up an older boy as they videotaped it, Killeen police said.

Dennis Michael Bittinger, 22, was arrested Wednesday and his wife, Rhonda Nicole Bittinger, 23, was taken into custody Thursday, police said.

The fight allegedly occurred Saturday while the couple babysat for the 5-year-old son of a friend, police said. When the boy's mother arrived to pick him up, she turned on the couple's video camera, which had previously been used to tape the children playing.

Police said the tape shows the soldier commanding his daughter to knock the victim down, kick him and hit him in the face. The girl follows her father's instructions as the boy cries and pleads for her to stop, police said.

The tape also shows the man declaring his daughter the "winner," and he shoves the boy and demands to know why he didn't defend himself, police said.

The incident left the boy with bruises.

Bond has been set at $100,000 each for the husband and wife, who were being held in the Bell County Jail Thursday night. It wasn't immediately clear if they had a lawyer.

I hung out with some guys one of my friends knew, and one of the guys was really twisted in the head. He brought some underground video of people doing stupid stuff. I didn't enjoy it at all, but I tried to tolerate it (most everyone started to leave after a while though). It shows people drinking down gallon milk and then throwing up on the sidewalk and other stupid idiots taking chips and scooping up the congealed mile... as well as other stuff. Most of us decided to go to my friends room to hang out, but I came back down to get some water, and I see the video with some punk beating on a little kid. Apparently the guy thought it was funny. I kind of lost it when I saw that. The guy eventually got the hint and stopped the video. There are some pretty twisted people out there.

The difference between a 5yo and a 3yo is quite significant, even if it's only 2 years. A school-age child has probably been taught that a 3yo is still a toddler and should never be hit or hurt and if a small child is hitting you, do not hit back, but wait for an adult or supervisor to take care of the situation.

That failed in this case, as the "supervisor" apparently had the mental ability of a child himself (from this limited account of what happened.)

I say they should get the boy's father and give him a bat and let him chase the other guy around a room with it for about 30 minutes. That should be good punishment.

The husband's actions I can KIND of understand (Though NOT condone) given the whole jock mentality so many in the military have, but the WOMAN standing there and allowing it to take place boggles the mind!

QFT, but you have to admit that a lot of psychotic people TRY to join the military and are just these types of people, and the military used to be more selective than they were before and probably would not allow someone who is psychotic in the military before, but now because of the shortage, they is probably a significant amount of crazies in the military now.

My 4 year old boy will try to beat up his 7 year old sister if she picks on him too much or they get in an argument. It generally doesn't last long as she quits when he bites her. Then their both in trouble.

My 9 year old boy will get in fights with his 12 year old brother. Mind you the 12 year old weighs 155lbs, my nine year old weighs 64lbs. He can stand his own with him, though.

Because he's a good kid and knows he isn't supposed to beat up on little kids maybe? Particularly when the little kids mom & dad are right there. He probably figured he'd really be in trouble if he hurt the little girl right there in front of her parents. The poor kid was in a no-win situation.
