This is a long shot, but "here goes" (speaker question)

Ok, I got a stereo system with detachable speakers.
Meaning you have to clamp red and black wires (sort of like mini-alligator clips, except the clips are on the stereo and plain wire is used for them to clamp on) into the back of the stereo for them to work.
Is there any kind of adaptor I can use to plug these babies into and use them for my computer?

i gotta believe that radio shack could get you from wat you got to the stereo mini jack that plugs into most sound cards. it mite not be pretty tho. also you need to consider the ohm rating for the speakers and the minimun power requirements for them. a sound card mite not have the kahonies to push large drivers without amplification. good luck 🙂

Sound cards require that the speakers be amplified in order not to damage the output section of the board. The only speakers that could be used are those used for listening to portable Cd/Casette players, if they still make those, or headphones. The output of a sound card is a line level(weak) signal and cannot drive regular speakers.
