This heat has got me riled up.

Heat decreases serotonin levels in the brain because it's being used to try and cool the body, so you're just biochemically encumbered at the moment.

How did people in the past deal with oppressive heat? It must be 85 degrees out there.

It's time we buy an a/c unit from CostCo.

5200 BTU a/c with 12 hour timer and remote control for $99 out the door plus Amex 1% rebate :)

Man, I love it. Winter blows. I can't get enough of this steamy jungle like heat and humidity we get even if I do sweat like Niagara Falls. :D

You're complaining about 85F? Where do you live?

It's expected to hit 105F here today, but I have AC so it's not a big deal.

I did spend the summer of 1995 in an apt without AC. Had a week of 100F and 90% humidity that summer. That sucked.

Holy crap man, don't move any further south if 85 has you this upset. It gets to be over 100F here, heat index is much higher with the dreadful humidity of summer.

If you are that uncomfortable go buy yourself a cheapie window unit AC from Walmart. You can at least keep your room cool. And you could overclock your computer more, too. :)

It's usually 90 something here in Mississippi with humidity so thick you feel like you're wrapped with a wet, sticky blanet everytime you go outside. ;) Chaotic42 knows what I'm talking about as do our other Southern posters.

I wish it was 85 here. It's more like 98 or something here in memphis. Add in the humidity and going outside is like walking into an oven. It sucks.

you all can go straight to hell

this summer I got put in a dorm with a single 20 amp circut between myself and 3 neighbors. They both have air conditioning and I dont. I literally have to CHOOSE between A/C and my computer. It has been and will continue to be a very hot summer.

I  winter
my car 's summer

we agree to disagree.

Nice, but just encumbered ? Any chance it actually puts people on edge chemically ? When I'm all sticky and warm (for reasons other than sports)... I get real pissy.

Only for show. the rig is in my profile... plenty fast enough for me.

the university when they started investigating the fuse blowouts on my floor looked at my neighbors and their 2 pc + air conditioner setups (they're each doubles)... one room with an unlicenced air conditioner.... then looked at my rig... and cited ME for using too much power. F them all I just turned up the z680's...

Ahh...it's nice and overcast here this morning...marine layer slipped inland :) It's about 60° out there...shouldn't get much hotter than 80° :)

Many colleges, such as the one I went to, do not allow AC units in the dorms. Summers were always hot in college. A cold shower before bed always helped.
