Perhaps it's stolen? And where's the VIN number? I've never been to that site before, but it doesn't make any sense not to post the VIN number so people can research it.

Listen to Butch ...

The price could indicate a latent defect (perhaps water (flood) damage that wasn't explained in the ad.

a salvage 350z with those miles would go for WAY more than that.

Reading the description, the seller seems to no habla the english too well. That's an easy scam, but do follow up and let us know.

Ads for late-model Japanese cars for $3000-$5000 are all over the internet these days. They are all scams, though fairly elaborate. They have pictures, VIN's that match the model of car, and often even phone numbers for you to call. But they'll want to use an escrow service, they'll ignore any requests to view the car, and that's when you know to walk. I think they steal info off of other people's ads to make theirs seem legit.

There are a few like this and others where you wire western union to them to 'hold' the car since they actually have another buyer ready (or some other tale) but somehow trust you more.

Autotrader and ebay are getting overwhelmed with retail dealers screwing up the listings.

That same car is on ebay right now (the listing guy claims it belonged to some musician, something like the Metallica drummer or something ridiculous). I thought it was a scam on ebay, but on autotrader it's just blatant.

Aah, here it is:

I just sent an inquiry to him and I simply cut and pasted the info you posted into the message. We'll see if he responds. :D

Yeah, but I couldn't remember who he said it belonged to, I found the link after I typed everything else.

Not that I'd have known who Joey Kramer is anyways...
