Bullcrap.

Says it's an 8GB memory stick, no way in hell it's real, not at that size and not for only $341. We used to sell Monstor 4GB ones, they were 3 inches wide and just as long, there's only so much memory you can cram onto a single stick. The picture shows a 512MB package btw...has anyone actually seen USB sticks at 8GB yet?

I see more then one place listing it. Maybe we are finally there. Maybe we'll be borrowing our dvds from each other at work.

I found ONE on Newegg, a Transcend, which is a brand I've at least heard of, but is also $120 more than that one from ewiz. I've noticed that all their stuff tends to be Super Talent, and tends to be priced a lot cheaper than identical looking items elsewhere, which scares me.

I think it's possible in terms of size, I have a 1GB stick which is tiny compared to the 512MB I got 2 years ago. The price is the thing that puts doubt in my mind, even 1-2GB sticks cost a fair bit.

Those companys are basically buying from cheap chinese sources

I had a bytecc external box... I saw the same box at MicroCenter but with a different packaging and brand(on the ext)

I mean you can have stuff made to your requirements, if you have the $$$

You work at this computer warehouse. You have six different models of memory sticks from one company: 256mb, 512mb, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB. The packaging all looks the same except for the memory size. You're underpaid and overworked. Do you take the product photos once or 6 times?

That's exactly what they're doing. For anyone who has bothered to look, the 4GB and 2GB models also have the same picture. Even the 64MB picture has the 512MB model in the picture. And they inserted fine print for you: "*Image may not reflect most recent product revision".

Maybe it's compressed, like they used to do with hard drives :)

I remember my first IBM PS/1 had a 250 MB hard drive*

*170MB uncompressed

Incorrect. Supertalent is a memory brand distributed by MA Labs, a large wholesale hardware distributor. EWiz is their shady retail storefront.

Do you happen to know where they source their chips from, or what memory maker they rebrand? I've always wondered.

Well maybe but the barebone laptops under that name are the same as the asus's. Unless it's a really good knock off with the same model number ;)
