link (this link is now dead)

Condition: Good
Seller's Comments: Cd in perfect condition. But its a CD-R copy. It was burn copied from a computer. It is the complete album. It comes with a case. It ships fast. Its shipped through first class shipping.

i bought something on ebay from this guy and shipping was incredibly slow. then when i looked at his feedback... it wasn't a pretty sight. that made me wonder what he was selling that resulted in these negs... and viola. should i tattle tale on him?

and on a related note... it's kinda sad that these ppl paid $10.50 for a burned copy of that cd.

edit - new link or screenshot

Exactly. I mean how dumb can someone really be to try and sell that on Ebay.

There is a link on the left part of the page that says "Do you think this item is in violation of the Half.com Listing Policies? Report the violation here." Below that is a link to their Listing Policies that says that what he's selling is prohibited.

Hmm, is it truly illegal to sell a copied cd?

Let's say for example I buy a cd and make a backup copy of it. A little while later the original cd gets destroyed and all that is left is the copy. Would I legally be allowed to sell it? Technically I did buy 1 copy of the cd and am now selling 1 copy of the cd.

I don't understand the reference. Can you explain what you mean?

What proof do you have that you owned the cd?

If it's acceptible to own a backup copy *for your own use*, that doesn't automatically transfer legality over to the backup.

I'd say it's more Highlanders, not Sith Lords...

I imagine the artist has an opinion on the subject, since it's his/her livelihood.

oh....but the $.50 that he would get if you bought the album wouldn't matter much

If someone put the item in their cart, the item would also be listed as no longer available. So we can't be sure if they've taken action yet.
