This guy needs a vacation... a very long one.

What does the error code that comes up from those links mean? The threads are only "closed", not actually deleted, so they are still there, but somehow not accessible?

The links work for me. Were you getting the "Oops" message? That's been a problem for a while although it's got a lot better in the last few days.

I don't think he should be banned. It's not like he is posting these in the "For those who believe" forum. They're off topic posts in an off topic forum. From what I've read he simply asks a question and let's it go from there. No poking or prodding to get a reaction. The flaming only starts when the nonsense post like "You're a troll, go away" come into the mix. If you filter those out, there is actually good, intellectual conversation here:

Einstein believed in God.

"From the viewpoint of a Jesuit priest I am, of course, and have always been an atheist.... I have repeatedly said that in my opinion the idea of a personal God is a childlike one. You may call me an agnostic, but I do not share the crusading spirit of the professional atheist whose fervor is mostly due to a painful act of liberation from the fetters of religious indoctrination received in youth. I prefer an attitude of humility corresponding to the weakness of our intellectual understanding of nature and of our being."

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."
--Einstein

Don't ban someone because other members can't keep there flames out of the thread. I'm not defending the man, but seriously, think about it. If every response to his initial question (be it an asinine question or not) were thought provoking and lacked finger-pointing, these threads would still be unlocked.

A simple question people. Is it or isn't it illegal for a public location to have something like baby Jesus, which I find offensive.

Who cares what you think? I bet the things you find acceptable are offensive to someone else. Get over being in the minority or go to a country where the culture fits your sensitivities better.

From what I see, the flame in this instance comes from Ronstang, not StatsManD. Flaming doesn't exist in these threads until people start replying. Don't ban him if you don't like him, just don't reply.

This is why his threads would be considered "flame bait."

I finally read a few of those posts after ignoring them for a week or so. It looks like he's been on vacation from Craig's List. What a sad state it is to be disowned by CL.
