Just heard on the news:| Woman was standing in line to get a sausage hotdog (I believe this was the case). Regardless, the guy stole the woman's purse which contained her asthma medication. The dude ran off (of course). Before the woman could get to the hospital/clinic to get more of her pills, the mother of four died of severe asthma attack!!

SONOFAB*TCH!!!!!!!!!!!:|:|:|:|

Very sad :(

I hope that piece of dogsh!t gets what is coming to him :| :| ...and now, assuming it even bothers him, he'll have to live with this for the rest of his life. That would torture anyone who has even the slightest hint of compassion in them.

Actually what he deserves is whatever that states gives for a property crime for theft. Nothing more, its tradgic but if those pills were that important to her she should have one in a necklace or something closer. People seem to forget sh1t happens in this world and not all of it seems right. If the state can prove that this guy intended or even had the remotest idea that he was endangering her life then charge him but I think they will never be able to prove that.
He is no more liable any other accidental killing.
Again the media strums on the heartstrings, would they even have reported it if it was a 80 yr old guy who lost his heart pills?
Probably not

desy, he is a hell of a lot more responsible than any other "accidental" killing. He caused her death while committing a crime. I seriously doubt it was intentional, but he shouldn't be breaking the law in the first place.

I think they should run tests on him to see how much sausage they can shove up his ass.

They shouldn't stop until he can taste it.

desy, that's the biggest load of BS i've ever heard, especially coming out of you, I had the impression that you were a humble, intelligent human being. He deserves to be charged with murder. Whether or not he is, is up to the courts, as you say.

He could easily get charged with involuntary manslaughter, I bet.

piku- That would be like a bowl of icecream with hot fudge and sprinkles on top compared to spending the next 20 years of your life in prison. Or getting life. Or getting the death penalty.

Agreed, but anytime you determine the penalty of a crime you look at the intent. Did he even remotely think he would cause her physical harm? Not likely, my point is the media pushes this out to get your blood to boil and people jump on the outrage bandwagon.
My cousin had bone cancer for 2 yrs the doctors kept telling him he had arthiritis and shrugged him off. He finally went in one day and told them if they didn't do something for the pain he was going to kill himself. THEN they finally got serious about it. He leaves behind a wife and 3 children. Isn't this doctor more culpable due to his negligence not to metion the time he had to give a proper diagnosis than this idiots spur of the moment decision?
Point is there are lots of things to get upset over, the guy who got shot 30X for 2 bananas warrants more of our attention.

desy,

I have to disagree with you on this one. With that attitude that means that the drunk who almost killed my mom in one accident killed two people in another and killed a third person in yet another should not still be locked up because he didn't intend to hurt anyone. Pulled your head out of your ass before you say stuff like that because the fresh air will help you think clearly.

desy, ever heard of accidental manslaughter? Many drunk drivers get this charge and even some sober people who really screw up. I think this jerk deserves nothing less than life without parole. I don't know if the death penalty can be given for accidental manslaughter.

I think **** in the subject means "head," or at least it should!

Oh, Bother! Like we need another political argument.

No offence, but I am a registered Dem because.... gasp I'm not white! And gasp I grew up poor! I benefitted from gasp tax dollars! Some of us do good and turn around to give back to our communities.

Some of us Dems vote their conscious and not just straight across party lines. I can only hope the same holds true for Republicans!

/me ducks

(sorry... I just bristle at gross generalizations.)

Isla, why do I just know that this guy will skate because he didn't get his Miranda rights read to him in the right tone of voice, in the right language or any number of politically correct excuses?

Damn right I vote GOP in hopes of turning back some of this liberal BS that permeates the "justice" system at this time. Honestly, that woman's family ought to have a big say in what his sentence is. I doubt rehabilitation is foremost in their minds!

I actually think I heard about a case hear in CA where the criminal intended to do one thing and actually did alot worse. However since it was his intent to steal, thats what he was charged with.

Whose side are you on liberal jmcoreymv? From what I've heard, if someone is killed during the commission of a crime, the person committing the crime is held responsible. Hey, that's the GOP way!
