Yeah, i wish we had an ignore feature too.

If you really loved him, you'd let him DYITB. 😉

EDIT: BTW, do you have an avatar identity crisis or something? Just about every time I see you post, you've got a new avatar. 😉

Oh, God! Not another FW crap. FW pulled this crap which led to the demise of the OT. I knew what was going to happen and said it was a bad idea. I was sick of preaching how bad an idea it was though so I said go ahead, lest I be accused of another crime in telling how bad an idea it was. The owner as usual tried to impress some sophomoric members who were professional gossips or thought they owned the place. People who tended to make the forum their home and kept blaming new members for their inability to make use of the forum again to their exclusiveness. They blamed new members for how boring it was to them, blamed them for change in in the nature of discussions and what was funny. See, this new breed were not people into the cozy, lovey-dovey business to be a part of the idle stay-at-home mum's or 'net's my home club. So it got them furious and unhappy. At the end they got it their way, though.

However, what happened was, people would quote the person who had the ignore button on and then sometimes they would respond to that person, so it made a smooth and intelligent conversations impossible. It also made it impossible to participate in a discourse if the party ignored or the one who has that party on ignore started a thread.

And of course as I predicted, the gossips and lonely turned-'net-to-place-of-comfort started to turn against each other. So they began using the ignore feature against themselves. Some people just turned on the feature because it was at their disposal. The whole thing became a disaster. Finally, the owner learned his lesson the hard way. He lost some members and the idiots who caused the havoc decided to deal with life and learn to ignore people mentally if they didn't like their posts. But of course the professional gossips whose lives are fulfilled by destroying other people's lives resurrected once again. Maybe one day when the owner isn't anything like the gossips themselves and doesn't participate in their secretive forum, he would have learned his lessons and dismissed them if they persisted.

I liked and came back to AT because in spite of how much I objected to how the moderators acted sometimes, at least they didn't pretend to be what they weren't. And they never made the foolish mistake of catering to some whiners who made the forum a replacement of their real lives. I would hope AT would not be persuaded to do that at anytime. If you don't like what someone has to say, it's simple: Ignore that person mentally. In real life you don't have people catering to your personal demands that you should be capable of handling yourself as an adult or teen. Keep in mind that one man's meat is another man's poison. Someone would appreciate the person you ignore. I learned to ignore people mentally, but that's hardly needed except in extreme cases. Even when someone sends me PMs and I don't appreciate them, I don't use the ignore feature. I mentally ignore the person's PMs. It's not that complicated. Perhaps it's just a question of maturity. If you're mature, mental ignore wouldn't be a problem.

What is FW?
