This forum is depressing...

I just came in here for a little bit to see what you're all posting and damn is it sad. Death, war and terrorism, I guess that's all that make up politics.

there is a lot more that makes up politics, like say placing a road somewhere. but it seems people would rather discuss more important things, and this is a global forum anyway.

Actually, if the things you read about politics piss you off, you should become *really* involved in an effort to effect change for the good.......not just bitch about it on an internet forum.

As if that were possible. The quote is recommending sleep, emotional detachment, and isolation as if it were possible. We are mentally ill and unless we find treatment we will destroy our world. When that happens it will be all our problems. It's the running away that's killing us. If the worlds problems aren't your problems, you aren't alive. What the speaker really intended was, "Don't let the fact that the world is in trouble dampen your will to resist. Unfortunately the speaker leaves us in the dark as to what the worlds problems are, how to maintain our spirits, and what the proper course of action is. Like all things, everything is connected to everything else and prescriptions are empty medicine. In order to understand one thing you have to understand everything else. Seek that unity in Love because it exists nowhere else, no?

I don't find that sad. I come to "Politics and News" looking for informationa dn different points of view. Most of the times it gets me searching for more information, and that is a good thing.

What I find sad, is how a lot of ppl come to this forum with fixed ideas and rigid ways of thinking, and are never capable of accepting that there might be different views than their, and more often than not better ideas, concepts.

I used to post economic/finance related articles. But it got little traffic. People seemed obsessed with the aforementioned topics. How sad.
