That situation sounds horrible. Are you able to find the IP address of where the E-mail originated - even though they spoofed the rest of the E-mail. If so, sounds like some information that the mods could use to cross-reference it against the records of the users here. Time to bring that person (rather, coward) down. :(

Yeah, I've got the IP, and I've found out that this person probably has children in the military as well, simply from the IP.

Why are you weenies giving that Vet a hard time anyway? These people risk everything for you whiney babies and all you can think to do is "sic mods on him" for expressing his opinion to you? Isn't that what your dumb ass is doing now?

I'm all for people expressing their opinions when they are man enough to come out and say it, instead of hiding behind a spoofed email address.

Level headed thinking right there.

not really. bush has the power to appoint a couple of supreme court justices pretty soon.

and responding to the "vietnam vet"... if the 49% leaves US, then all there is left of the US of A will be the deep south and ummm... ohio. i'd like to see what the states would be like without cali and new york...

Boo hoo. The "vet" did this in the most passive-agressive, creepy way possible. If he had any balls there were any number of more effective ways of expressing himself. My guess is he wasn't even born before the Vietnam war ended.

I'd be $100 that this guy was not a vet, nor for that matter probably over the age of 18

If that's the way you feel, why not leave the country instead of hiding in New England, Mr. Hunter?

A Vietnam Vet

Now, I traced the email back to where it originated, but my question is... why if you want to confront someone about their views, hide your identity?

because he doesnt want a confrontation, he wants to speak and have the last word.

lot of good it did him.

as for communism, i dont' think it's anybody's business for a country to adapt communism. patriotic people need to separate their emotion for their country from the reality: if you really love your country, you should try and support whoever will try and make things right, not blindly support whoever is the president.

You do realize that it's not simply divided by states. It's by counties and sectional areas. In most of the states there is clearly a very small gap between those who voted for Bush and those who voted for Kerry. Secession is simply ridiculous for any semi-intelligent person to consider happening. And I'd like to see what NY and Cali would be without the other states.

Heh, I couldn't agree more.

I don't care how much you hate GW, he is your president whether you like it or not.

weird....

but i will say this: those who don't like being told "love it or leave it" need to realize that if they want freedom to express themselves that is also granted to the person who responded to them.

Isn't it funny that the same people who are quick to tell others to "love it or leave it" are the same ones that are anti-government when it comes to things like gun rights. Love it or hate it. Pick one.

Edit: I shouldn't have quoted mosh. It's just something that I always thought was peculiar.

of course i don't want to see the US gets divided (althogh somehow it is), but as "vietnam vet" says:

"If that's the way you feel, why not leave the country instead of hiding in New England, Mr. Hunter?

A Vietnam Vet"

he sure does.

Where did I say anything about people who fight wars being wrong?
